It is governed by a five-member Council, elected at-large. The Council sets policy and adopts the annual budget. The PositionUnder the direction of the Parks & Landscape Lead Worker, the temporary/seasonal worker duties will predominantly be mowing and string trimming but may perform a variety of duties assisting with the upkeep of the City’s Landscape and Lighting District (L&L’s) and municipal parks, including planting, pruning of trees and shrubs, deadheading, weeding, fertilizing, and irrigation system repair. Example of duties may include:•Maintains planted areas, repairs irrigation systems; operates and maintains vehicles; heavy machinery, and a variety of equipment; may apply fertilizers and pesticides •Inspects parks for safety issues; maintains bar-becue and picnic areas•Performs routine landscape and facility main-tenance work, such as sweeping, raking, weed-eating, weeding by hand and hand pruningIncumbent in this position will work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.This is a temporary position and limited to a 1000 hours per fiscal year.
