City of Santa Rosa Board Vacancies

City Council is always accepting applications for our Boards, Commissions, and Committees.

Currently, we are actively seeking volunteers interested in serving on the following Boards that have current vacancies:

Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Board (One Senior Community Representative)
About: The City's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board provides guidance in the preparation of the City's Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan by identifying pedestrian and bicycle projects and advising on the priority of those projects. The Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan includes the background, analysis of the existing pedestrian and bike pathways, recommendations for new pedestrian and bike pathways, bicycle and pedestrian accident analysis, pedestrian and bicycle education and safety programs, and pedestrian and bicycle amenities.

Board of Building Regulation Appeals (Two Positions)
About: The Board of Building Regulation Appeals is charged with the hearing appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the building official relative to the application and interpretation of the City Code regarding buildings and construction. It is desirable but not required that the members of the Board be active in their field and are qualified by experience and training to pass upon matters pertaining to building construction, including, but not limited to: electrical, plumbing and mechanical work. It is desirable but not required that the Board include: (1) a general contractor; (2) a structural engineer or a civil engineering specializing in structural work; (3) a civil engineer; (4) an architect; (5) an electrical engineer or electrical contractor; (6) and (7) a mechanical engineer or mechanical contractor or plumbing contractor.

Board of Community Services (One At-Large Position)
About: The purpose of the Board of Community Services (BOCS) is to review recreational policies, facilities, and programs and to advise City Council on their effectiveness, and to advise the Council on matters related to community beautification. When requested by the Director of Recreation and Parks, the BOCS assists in the formulation of rules for the use of parks and recreation facilities.

Community Advisory Board (Core)
About: The Community Advisory Board (CAB) represents views and ideas from the broader community on issues of interest to the City Council. The CAB and the City Council jointly decide on the topics on which they will seek input. The topics have a broad community interest, not just a narrow, neighborhood-based focus. The City Charter requires the CAB to advise the City Council on: (1) Public Safety issues; (2) Capital Improvement priorities; (3) involvement plans for development issues; and (4) Recommendations on public improvement funds that are allocated by the City Council.

Measure O Citizen’s Oversight Committee (1 At-Large Position)
About: The purpose and responsibilities of the Measure "O" Citizens Oversight Committee are to ensure that all revenues received from the voter approved Transaction and Use Tax (Measure “O”) are spent only on permissible uses.
