The Lead Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for assisting the supervisor in assigning and reviewing the work of the Heavy Equipment section of Sonoma Water. Work is performed in a fleet maintenance facility and in the field, which may be under unfavorable environmental conditions.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Significant experience diagnosing and repairing medium/heavy duty trucks, tractors, loaders, backhoes, trailers, and miscellaneous equipment
- Considerable knowledge about the theory, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines, emission devices, and systems
- Possession of a current California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) I or II certification
Minimum Qualifications
License: Possession of a valid driver's license at the appropriate level including special endorsements, as required by the State of California, may be required depending upon assignment to perform the essential functions of the position. A State of California Class "A" commercial driver's license is required on completion of the probationary period.
Certifications and Licenses: The ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician.
California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) I and II Course are required on completion of the probationary period.
A State of California Bureau of Automotive Repair Class "A" Lamp Adjuster and Class "A" Brake Adjuster licenses are required on the completion of the probationary period.
