Job Opening: Technical Support Engineer
The Meinberg USA Technical Support Engineer (TSE) will be a technical expert, assisting our customers with technical issues both before and after sales. The TSE will have two main areas of expertise:
1. Network Technology (requirement)
The TSE will help customers correctly install and configure Meinberg time and frequency servers, diagnose problems, and resolve technical issues.
The TSE should be skilled in networking, with a solid understanding of modern computer networks, including servers, switches, routers, TCP/IP, and Ethernet, and should have both Linux/Unix and Windows system administrator skills. Experience as a network engineer or administrator and/or CCNA or CCNE certification is preferred.
2. Time Synchronization (learning opportunity)
The TSE will be trained by Meinberg in GPS, NTP (network time protocol), and PTP (IEEE-1588 precision time protocol) technologies and our complete product line, both hardware and software. The TSE will be exposed to cutting-edge timing needs as they architect systems and help customers solve time synchronization problems.
Meinberg serves a variety of markets, including broadcast, power grid, finance, datacenter, telecom, air traffic control, and defense. The TSE will learn industry-specific needs and technologies, including broadcast standards (SMPTE, AES, …), power grid (PRP/HSR, IEC, IRIG), and finance regulations (MiFID II, CAT) and will serve as an expert consultant for our customers.
The TSE will also manage our lab in Santa Rosa, CA, including assembling, configuring, testing, and tracking demos and testing incoming RMAs and repairing them.
