Overview of Position
- Works with day clients to assist them with available resources for housing, income, employment, money management and health care needs
- Reports directly to the Executive Director
- 10-15 hours/week, Monday – Friday (flexible hours)
- Maintains strict confidentiality of clients
- Handles all data entry and county reports for the SOS Winter Shelter
- Attends county meetings when necessary
Responsibilities
- Tracks day client interactions and targeted assistance
- Produces monthly reports of interactions with day clients for the Executive Director
- Attends the monthly SOS staff meetings
- Coordinates with collaborative partners from the SHARE Program , Interfaith Shelter Network, and Sonoma County Whole Person Care
- Completes tasks as assigned by the Executive Director
- Works as a team member on events and other activities of SOS
- Responsible for case management of SOS Winter Shelter clients
Qualifications
- Preferred bilingual Spanish
- College Degree and/or equivalent work experience in Social Sciences
- Familiarity with Sonoma and Sonoma Valley
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Must have a valid CA driver’s license and a vehicle
Compensation
- $ 20.00 per hour 10-15 hours per week

The Day Program coordinator oversees the SOS day program. He or she is responsible for monitoring clients and ensuring that all rules and policies of the organization are followed. The majority of our clients are homeless and in search of housing or employment. The day program coordinator must feel comfortable working with vulnerable and diverse populations at all times. He or she must have a high sense of discretion.
The day program coordinator is responsible for the overall running and cleaning of the kitchen. He or she will keep a shower and laundry schedule for clients, distribute and track miscellaneous services, and manage any volunteers. This position is nonexempt, 30-32hours a week, Monday - Friday. A California food handler card is required within 30 days of hiring (employer can pay for it.)
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Food Coordinator in planning weekly breakfast and lunch menus, as well as regarding weekly Costco and LDS orders.
- Prepare food for clients from donations and a limited pantry.
- Follow all health and safety codes for food handling.
- Track clients as they arrive and the services they receive.
- Build rapport with clients. Receive, process, log, and put away in-kind donation
