Wing and Barrel Ranch is seeking a Controller. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing the general ledger, food and beverage pricing, ensuring accurate physical inventories, and providing timely monthly close and financial reporting. The successful person for this role will be a leader and team player who understands the strategic direction of the company and can put in place accounting processes and policies that support the achievement of company objectives.
Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
Produces budgets and forecasts; reports significant budget differences and cash requirements to CEO.
Helps the management team to drive revenue and manage costs to meet and exceed budget goals.
Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
Works with external auditors and provides needed information for audits.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements, including filing tax returns.
Supervise and maintain G/L, A/P, A/R.
Responsible for oversight of asset inventory.
Interfaces with key bank representatives.
Prepares proformas and other financial reports regarding future events, investment/revenue opportunities.
Solid financial management, organizational and administrative skills with particular strengths in budgeting, controls and forecasting, management reporting, and planning.
A record of successfully creating and maintaining functional structure and relationships as evidenced by significant or long-term career tenure within organizations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Someone who defaults to more communication than less.
Ability to “manage up” effectively to executives and stakeholders; knows what is necessary and appropriate to communicate.
Excellent project and time management skills.
Proficiency with financial and accounting technology; is able to evaluate and implement technology solutions for effectiveness, compliance and reporting.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
Ten years or more management-level accounting experience required.
Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times (inventory)
